Short n sweet
The Baby Kimono is blocked and awaiting sewing up.
Then all that's left to do is decide on the button for the outside closure.
Which is more baby,
but I'm probably going to go with the tube which is more the garment, and the diameter of the tube sits perfectly in the purl gutter.

Hey- it looks great! Love the buttons. Are you putting a button on the inside too- or a tie?
Tube, definitely. The ladybug is sweet, but the tube, as you observe, is more right for the sweater.
great colour, tube definitely
Love the lady beetle, but the tube does work sooo well with that pattern and the colour too - looks great.
The big tube! The big tube! I'd so wear that! (you know, if I was baby sized, ahem...)
WOW! looks sensational - great colour and definitely the small tube button. wish i had a little babe to put in it! um, actually, no i don't...two is plenty. two is more than enough.
Hmmm. Tough call.
The tube is beautiful.
The sentimentalist in me says, if that rare opportunity to use a ladybird arises, life is too short not to.
So I'll stay On The Fence.
The tube, absolutely. But the ladybug is so sweet ... you might have to knit another baby item just to use the button?
i adore the tube, despite the cuteness of the ladybug... the wee tube especially. so good.
Coming late to the party...life, it intrudes in the blog reading sometimes...but I say tube! wee tube! too.
Beautiful job, Carson! Just. Beautiful.
Looks gorgeous! What have you knit it in? I've almost finished mine in Rowan 4ply soft but am still deciding on i-cord or not. I love the ladybug button - very cute.
Oh Shula is so right. Life is too short to pass up a bug called lady. Great button. Of course the kimono is fantastic too, but that goes without saying!
The kimono top looks really interesting in its construction. I love the colour and the tube is the way to go.
the mother and grandmother in me wants to point out that little people spend quite a lot of their time on their tummy. The flatter ladybug would probably be much nicer to lie on.
I'm with you, Carson. The ladybug would work for me if it was bigger, as in a humorous motif. I'm loving the wood; but as you are only using one button, the tube looks better. And the sweater's a great color! I'm pasteled out.
