wednesday already

Vessel Wednesday.

White terrazzo concrete round tapered bowls.

Containing about 40 litres of water, seven
very placid Oryzias latipes (japanese rice fish), one vigorous Nymphoides parvifolia ( a West Australian native water plant), algae, and one Jacaranda blossom because it's that time of year.

Ooohh, water and plants and blossoms. I miss it all! Outside my window it's dark, frozen and still....I miss plants...Live, green, beautiful plants!

...vessel Wednesday? Is this a blog challenge/thread? Hmmmm...

Beautiful, Carson. I'm really sorry I haven't been keeping up with my blog reading - as photos like these are inspirational. I'm very fond of Japanese things (and people) and these remind me of Japanese temples and ikebana. A friend of mine is an ikebana master in the Ohara school - it took me a while to get used to the use of dead blossoms etc, but now I love the concept of honouring the cycle of life.
